The Blueprints Collection _A modern interpretation

Inspired by Bill Bensley’s original sketches for Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Spa Botánico, the Blueprint Collection captures the essence of a unique architectural vision rooted in luxury, imagination, and place. Each work represents a one-of-a-kind experience and a meaningful investment, uniting art and architecture in support of Dorado’s cultural development. The collection comprises 14 original prints by Bill Bensley, each individually intervened by Puerto Rican and international artists who bring their own distinctive aesthetics, transforming architectural blueprints into singular works of contemporary art.

Bill Bensley is an internationally acclaimed architect and designer known for creating immersive, nature-inspired resorts and cultural landmarks around the world. Celebrated for his imaginative storytelling and commitment to environmental and cultural preservation, his work transforms architecture into experiential art. Bensley is the creative force behind Spa Botánico at Dorado Beach, where design, landscape, and narrative converge into a singular luxury experience. He served as the landscape architect and master planner for Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, shaping the overall vision of the property. His work includes the master landscape design, integration of historic elements of the former Rockefeller estate, circulation paths, gardens, water features, and the immersive relationship between architecture and nature across the resort. Spa Botánico is one of the most emblematic expressions of that broader vision, but it sits within a larger, cohesive design narrative conceived by Bensley for the entire property.

Uniqueness of this Collection

These works are unique because they originate from Bill Bensley’s original architectural sketches for Dorado Beach, documents that are rarely transformed into collectible artworks. Each blueprint serves as a singular foundation, subsequently intervened by a different Puerto Rican or international artist, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that cannot be replicated. The collection unites architecture, contemporary art, and cultural purpose, while being directly tied to an iconic site, making each work both a distinctive artistic statement and a meaningful cultural investment.

The Cause We Support

This gathering supports the establishment of a Programa 100×35 Núcleo in Dorado, a long-term music education initiative developed by the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. The program uses music as a tool for social development, offering children and youth, particularly those from underserved communities, access to high-quality musical training that complements formal education. A Núcleo is more than a music school. It is a community-based space where discipline, creativity, teamwork, and confidence are cultivated through collective musical practice. For Dorado and surrounding communities, this initiative represents an opportunity to expand access to structured arts education, strengthen social bonds, and open new pathways for personal and academic growth. Proceeds from the auction will directly support the launch and sustainability of this Núcleo, helping ensure continuity, professional instruction, instruments, and program infrastructure. By participating, guests contribute to a lasting cultural investment, one designed to benefit generations of children and young people through the transformative power of music.
